One of the world’s famous groupies has admitted she would totally go for Harry Styles should she be a 19-year-old again. Fair call – we’re sure we could find a few who would agree with her. Pamela Des Barres revealed to The Sun she would be Harry Styles’ groupie if she had her time as a teen again. Now 69, she was once the very famous groupie of Led Zeppelin and was Jimmy Page’s girlfriend in the 60s – but these days she loves the ‘easy femininity’ of the former One Direction singer. She said: ‘If I were 19 again he [Harry’s] who I’d be going after. I think he’s talented and I think he’s in it for the long haul, which is so rare in the current crop of kids.
‘He’s also got that easy femininity I’ve always liked and he seems quite adorable. He’s also mysterious about his sexuality, which is fabulous – I love that.’ While opening up on her crush on the singer and Dunkirk actor, she also spoke about the issue of those who had degraded the idea of groupies. She said she was ‘proud’ of her role and said she was ‘exactly who she aspired to be’.
‘It’s judgmental bullshit. People are so uptight about sex, it’s terrible. I wasn’t some little victim, I got a lot out of those relationships,’ she said. ‘Any woman who gets out there, looks on stage and goes after someone who inspires her, that is the ultimate feminist act, surely?’
